Higgins Lake
Jacques Cousteau called Higgins Lake the 6th most beautiful lake in the world to National Geographic due to the distinctive drop-offs for snorkelers and divers. It also offers an exquisite swimming location with its shallow and sandy shores.

Early morning anglers can enjoy fishing for perch, walleye, small mouth bass and much more. Boating enthusiasts can enjoy a day full of tubing, skiing or cruising the beautiful shore lines. Fodor's named Higgins lake one of 15 most beautiful hidden gem lakes in the country. Citing  fishing , swimming, beautiful shorelines, and the many boat launches as reasons to visit! Click for directions to the beach, picnic area and boat ramp.

B&B Marine, located approximately five minutes from our campground, offers the best in boat and jet ski rentals. Check out the B&B Marine website.
Au Sable River

The historic Au Sable River best known for it's brown trout and blue ribbon designation (AKA the highest quality fishing you will ever experience!) you do not want to miss the canoe on this one! Our favorite way to enjoy the river is canoeing and kayaking. We also love swimming at the local swimming hole and casting a line for trout!

Campbell's Canoeing, located approximately five miles from Higgins Lake Campground in Roscommon, Michigan, offers 1.5 hour to two-day trips on the river. Check out the Campbell's Canoeing website.
